These release notes describe and illustrate the features of this first release of the RH Import/Export Plugin for 3ds Max. They address all issues related to the installation and use of this plugin.

New Features
  • Version 4.0 .rh files are now supported: version 4.0 files can be imported and both version 3.5 and 4.0 files can be exported.

System Requirements

Minimum

  • 3ds Max version 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0.

Note: This plugin is certified for 3ds Max 5.0 but is not supported.

Installation

The plugin can be installed directly from the CD-ROM, or it can be downloaded and installed from the Right Hemisphere Web site. Before installing we advise closing 3ds Max and all Right Hemisphere applications.

New Installations

To install the plugin from the CD-ROM:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Use Windows Explorer to locate the executable file.
3. Double-click the Setup.exe file to start the installation.
4. Follow the instructions as they appear on your screen.
Note: You must ensure the correct versions of 3ds Max are selected for which you want to install the Right Hemisphere plugin.

Existing Installations

To uninstall the plugin:

1. Close 3ds Max.
2. Delete the following files:

  • \plugins\rh_impexport6.dle
  • \plugins\dll\eview3d.dll
  • \plugins\dll\Plugins\*.* (all files)

Product Versions

Version numbers for the RH Import/Export Plugin for 3ds Max begin at release 3.5 in keeping with the Deep Exploration family of products.

The version number scheme is 1.2.3.4567 where:

1. 1 = Major version indicator. This would be incremented for a major release.
2. 2 = Minor release that indicates new feature release between major releases.
3. 3 = Indicates a patch that includes fixes only.

4567 = Build number as an identification of the build that is released.
