New Features

Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions / Acrobat 3D

  • The PDF Publishing Module is used to save files to the Adobe Portable Document (.pdf) format. Any 3D content contained within these files is converted to the Universal 3D (.u3d) format.
  • The PDF Publishing Module is delivered with several templates that can be used to publish PDF documents:
    - RH CATIA PMI Template: Used to display 3D content, the Bill of Materials (BOM), model views, and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI). We recommend using this template for all .pdf files except ones created from .jt files.
    - RH JT PMI Template: Used to display 3D content, the BOM, model views, and PMI. We recommend using this template for .pdf files created from .jt files.
    - RH Simple Animation Template: Used to display 3D content and to control animation.
    - RH Steps Template: Used to display 3D content, and to control steps and step animation.
  • You can create your own, or edit existing templates in Adobe Designer using the RH objects installed with the Designer Objects module and located in the Designer library palette.
  • You can edit RH objects in the same way as you edit normal Adobe Designer objects.

Fixed

Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions

  • There are no fixes for this first release of the PDF Publishing Module for Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions.

Acrobat 3D

  • PDF Publishing and Designer Objects combined modules: Parts no longer move when they should not when saving keys in the .pdf format.

Known Issues

Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions / Acrobat 3D

  • Line thickness and tolerance angles do not work for the vectorised poster image. Note that this does not apply to the Standard Edition.
  • Callout leader lines do not reach callouts when they are exported to .pdf.
  • When a model has a BOM as PMI data, PDF Publisher uses that BOM instead of the Parts panel. Therefore, PMI BOM names in the Parts panel may not match the BOM names in the Scene tree.
  • Markups user names and dates don't display in published PDF documents.
  • Callouts are not animated with meshes in published PDF documents.
  • Model view render modes are not displayed in the PDF document. You can use the Acrobat 3D render modes to display these.
  • Template backgrounds are not white in animated PDF documents when using the Animation template.
  • Model views change when the Acrobat 3D render mode is changed.
  • The font remains the same size on Teamwork markups in PDF douments.
  • Designer Objects Module: Two quantity columns are displayed in the BOM when using the RH Generic PMI template..

Acrobat 3D

  • Acrobat 3D views that are set to vertices make all PMI data/text unreadable.
  • There is no option for the vector poster image when publishing to .pdf.
  • Merging models with PMI data may destroy some model views or corrupt the export results.
  • Solid render mode does not display in PDF documents when 'Use vector poster image' is selected and 3D is enabled.
  • The scene may change to black when using the Select tool if you are using a DirectX 9.0 display renderer. To resolve this, choose Edit > Preferences in Acrobat 3D, click the 3D category, and select another renderer in the Preferred Renderer field
