Known Issues
A PowerUser must install for All Users in order to get the Office functionality of Deep View Complete.
Install of Deep View Complete for all users on a Vista machine will not enable Deep View menus in Office for Standard (restricted) accounts.
A Vista Standard user account does not have the ability to install. This account type is not equivalent to an XP ‘Standard’ Power User.
The right-click menu option for Display > Background is disabled by default in Word.
Deep Access users collaborating on the same asset with differing release versions of Deep View may find Markup comments duplicated on Merge/Edit of changes.
Deep View uninstall removes Cortex, including when other Right Hemisphere software remains.
Unable to insert Sketchup files in Office documents.
Installation
Installation of Deep View 5.5.0.xxxx supports one version at a time. This can be either the Minimum, or Complete install.
Upgrading from a previous version of Deep View to either Minimum or Complete will uninstall the previous version. This includes performing a downgrade by installing Deep View Minimum 5.5 over a previous release of Deep View Complete (formerly Deep Publish).
Before installing Deep View at any time, we advise closing all applications.
Users must shut down open instances of applications with referenced ActiveX controls when prompted. Selecting to ‘Ignore’ will result in a prompt to reboot. If the user selects to ignore and reboot files do not register properly .
This can be fixed by going to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and selecting Deep View in the program list. Select [Change] > [Next] > Repair .
Upgrading via the CAB installer will silently uninstall previously installed versions. Once started, the process cannot be cancelled. This will be fixed in the next release :
The only workaround here is to reinstall your previous version if you wish to rollback.
Installing Deep View via a Deep Access site may call the incorrect version of the .cab installer. Users who previously installed via this method will still have the old version of the .cab in their cache. This leads to confusing dialogs requesting to Repair, Modify, or Repair the install. To avoid such install difficulties, simply delete the internet browser cache. For Internet Explorer this can be done by opening Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files.
For Deep View 5.5. silent install :
To run a silent install of Deep View Minimum or Deep View Complete do the following:
[executable name] /v"/passive
Troubleshooting
3D graphics use more resources (memory) than 2D. If you experience memory difficulties, decrease the size of your screen resolution.
