Known Issues
Deep Exploration does not support exporting to 3D PDF with a Multi-BOM scene.
There has been new implementation to Detailed Views in Deep Exploration 6.1. This new implementation is not backwards compatible with previous versions of Deep Exploration.
Functionality of the Decal Mapping tool is limited to computer memory capacity. Because of this, there will be situations where images do not appear on a high resolution surface due to insufficient memory.
There has been a update to the FBX plugin. Please be aware that there may be limitations to importing FBX files.
Graphical errors with thrustline when viewed in the OpenGL renderer mode.
Notes
Import and Export Options:
The Import option dialog now displays when a file is clicked to open in the file list. Export options are also set to display when saving a file. A global setting also exists in Edit >Preferences>Files: 'Show import settings when opening files', and 'Show export settings when saving files'. Each Import/Export dialog has a checkbox to disable this when loading or saving.
Compact Scene Tree:
Compact Scene Tree is a new import option (On by default) that collapses the complex scene tree from CATIA assemblies and parts only. The Compact Scene Tree option has been introduced to manage the very complex scene tree structure from CATIA parts or assemblies.
Compact Scene Tree is filtered via an xml file that applies a set of rules that govern the degree with which the scene tree is collapsed. It can be adjusted to collapse only some nodes or objects of the scene tree as required. This xml file ( compactscenetree.xml) is located in the plugins folder.
For further information regarding this new option, refer to 'The Compact Scene Tree option for CATIA files' in Deep Exploration Help.
Default Import Options:
PMI is now set to OFF by default for new installs as well as upgrades from 6.0.
Tessellation Improvements:
Tessellation has been improved for all formats. The quality of tessellation has been improved along with control over the tessellation settings. There is a bigger range between Very Low and Very High tessellation settings with a better spread between the various preset levels. Angular tolerance, Chord height tolerance and chord height behavior allows complete control of tessellation, and the preset levels are created using these controls.
Load Method Renaming:
The CAD module names have been changed to more generic names to remove confusion with actual CAD package or format names. The Legacy and 2009 Reader names have also been changed for the CoreCAD formats that can choose between them. They are now either Recommended or Alternate, depending on which loader is deemed better for a specific format.
The Unigraphics module name has been changed to NX, as that is the actual CAD Application name.
Installation
Installation whilst maintaining a version of Deep Exploration 6.1.x on the same machine
DE 6.1 installs into a separate folder by default. In addition, there are separate start menu entries for each. For DE 5.7 users, your product activation codes will be used, so there is no need to re-activate. Thumbnails however, will need to be re-generated as these are stored separate from existing.
Upgrading to Deep Exploration 6.1
As Deep Exploration 6.1 is installed into a separate folder, there is no need to uninstall the previous Deep Exploration build 5.7 and install the latest build.
Notes
Before installing Deep Exploration, we advise closing
all applications.

All customers using Deep Exploration version 6.1 will,
at a minimum, require Adobe Reader 8.1 for PDF Publishing.
Note: For users with Microsoft Windows 2000 operating
system, you will require all of the latest Microsoft Windows 2000 operating
system updates to be installed before installing Deep Exploration 6.1.
Without the required updates, the Deep Exploration 6.1. installer will
fail.
For Deep Exploration 6.1. silent install :
DeepExploration.exe /v"/passive ALLUSERS=1"
For the combined module ( ensuring that the file exists
for Deep View or that you are going to do the regsvr32 after for Deep
View ) :
The Help reference information is available from the
Deep Exploration menu and by pressing F1 on your keyboard within Deep
Exploration.
Product Versions
The version number scheme is 1.2.3.4567 where:
1 = Major version indicator. This would be incremented
for a major release.
2 = Minor release that indicates new feature release between major
releases.
3 = Indicates a patch that includes fixes only.
4567 = Build number as an identification of the build
that is released.
