Known Issues
  • HDR environment maps are viewed with one pixel when in Orthographic view, causing the background image to appear blurry. This is actually the nature of HDR environment map when viewed in orthographic.
  • Drawing and Markup tool is now known as the Drawing tool. Please note that the Continuous Draw and Drawing Callouts have been temporarily removed.
  • Scaling parts attached to a thrustline may distort the the thrustline.
  • When a Toolbar is added to a Layout, the change is indicated by a [*]. This indicates that the layout needs to be saved. For Panels, this only applies when a Panel is set to open based on Tabs (via Customize Layout Setting).
  • VZMXL currently does not support Thrustlines and Measurements.
  • Translating JTPMI to Catia5 files may result in incorrectly placed PMI.
  • Decal Mapping:
    • Pixilation issues may occur when used on high poly count meshes.
    • Images with alpha channels may not display properly in OpenGL.
  • UAC ( User Access Control) for Vista and Windows 7, when set to ON, affects Deep Exploration features. When UAC is set to ON, we recommend setting the Deep Exploration.exe to run as Administrator. This must be set to ON for:
    • a) Publishing to PDF.
    • b) Installing 3ds Max DCOM.
    • c) Drag and drop files into Deep Exploration.
  • HDR render mode does not respect all display modes.
  • Gateway has been removed from Deep Exploration 6.0. It will be replaced by Deep Access Explorer which is due soon.

Notes
  • Saving object transform in Model Views - Deep Exploration now supports saving the object position in Model Views. Right-click model view and click Store Object positions.
  • Beta testers - we recommend uninstalling prior to installing the released version of Deep Exploration. Please also delete user files located in the following:.
    • WinXP - C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Right Hemisphere\Deep Exploration60.
    • Vista and Windows 7 - C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Right Hemisphere\Deep Exploration60.
    • Registry entry - HKEY_Current_User\Software\Right Hemisphere\Deep Exploration60\Layout.
  • Select Objects (F3) >Visual Context is a future feature.
  • Walk mode is expecting to deal with real scene sizes. Camera height can be set for Walk Mode in File > Preferences > 3D Editor: Set Camera Height in Walk Mode. Walk speed can also be set here.
  • Customize Layout, a few hints:
    • When the 'Show/Hide' checkbox is ticked for a scene panel, folder or toolbar, it is set to display. For example, when My 3D Models is ticked to Show, 'By File' is set to Manual, and 'Tab' is set to OFF, it will always display for each tab in a layout. It will stay that way unless unticked.
    • When 'By File' is set to Automatic, this means that if a file includes the attribute, a Panel, or Folder or Controller will display. An example is when Scene Panel: Animation 'By File' is set to Automatic, and 'By tab' is set to Yes. This means that when a scene has animation, the Animation Panel will automatically display. This is controlled on a tab by tab basis. If Animations is has the Show/Hide checkbox ticked for a tab, it will automatically display.
  • Adding a Backplate to a scene is done by left mouse-click, dragging the file into the scene, and selecting 'As Backplate'.

Installation

Installation whilst maintaining a version of Deep Exploration 6.0.x on the same machine

DE 6.0 installs into a separate folder by default. In addition, there are separate start menu entries for each. For DE 5.7 users, your product activation codes will be used, so there is no need to re-activate. Thumbnails however, will need to be re-generated as these are stored separate from existing.

Upgrading to Deep Exploration 6.0

As Deep Exploration 6.0 is installed into a separate folder, there is no need to uninstall the previous Deep Exploration build 5.7 and install the latest build.

Notes

Before installing Deep Exploration, we advise closing all applications.

For network installation and deployment instructions, please see the Right Hemisphere Support - Knowledgebase.

All customers using Deep Exploration version 6.0 will, at a minimum, require Adobe Reader 8.1 for PDF Publishing.

Note: For users with Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system, you will require all of the latest Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system updates to be installed before installing Deep Exploration 6.0. Without the required updates, the Deep Exploration 6.0. installer will fail.

For Deep Exploration 6.0. silent install :

DeepExploration.exe /v"/passive ALLUSERS=1"

For the combined module ( ensuring that the file exists for Deep View or that you are going to do the regsvr32 after for Deep View ) :

DeepExplorationPackaged_ x. x. x.x.exe 0 /SILENT /MODULE DP /v/passive /MODULE DE /v"/passive ALLUSERS=1"
