These release notes describe and illustrate the features
of this latest release of Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions.
They address any issues not discussed in the Help reference or Readme
documentation and they include information regarding installation.

Materials, Animation, Layers, Parts panes can be moved and docked from Scene Tree pane.
New 2D drag and drop into a 2D layer in the 3D scene.
New options in Search & Select Dialog.
Updated Transform dialog to improve the transformation of parts & assemblies numerically, by position, rotation, scale, and shear.
Fly to Object on Middle Mouse Button/Wheel Click.
Ability to highlight the children of a selected parent.
Camera alignment to point/face/surface.
Support for "Y Up" or "Z Up" 3D coordinate systems.
Deep Exploration Standard Edition now comes with Illustration, CADTools, Realite and UV Mapping.
Deep Exploration CAD Edition includes the CAD Loaders; industry-leading Catia5 loader and the JT loader that includes PMI.
Deep View Complete and Minimum are available for free along with the Right Hemisphere Max and Maya plugins (32 and 64 bit). They can be download free from the Right Hemisphere website.
There is now a new licensing system which is much easier to use and has more options.
Change Control has a new feature set. This includes right-click drag file and new 'Replace', 'Replace with Options' and 'Enhanced Merge': drop into a 3D scene with options.
Alt L Click in viewport; First click should select object; Second click should select all objects in the same level of hierarchy; Third click should select all objects under the next level of hierarchy up. etc.
Steps and Procedures
Steps can be grouped into 'Procedures'. Multiple procedures are supported in .RH file.
Direct text editing of Step Name and Step Description - enables quick editing of step properties without having to open the Steps Properties dialog.
Ability to create a new procedure that contains duplicates of the selected Steps.
Ability to update a selected step render mode to the current render mode state.
Ability to move or add selected Steps to a procedure.
Render steps to Raster Image file, Video file or Vector Image file.
Ability to highlight sequences or selections in steps.
Direct editing of Sequence Name.
Reorder animation sequences by dragging within the Animation panel.
Duplicate and Reverse a selected animation sequence.
Ability to merge multiple selected animation sequences into a Single Sequence.
Record Keyframes button added to Animation controls.
Record Keyframes button in the On position highlights the 3D Viewport in Red and displays [REC] in top right corner of the 3D Viewport.
Output Size options per step.
Model Views and Portfolios
Model Views can be grouped into 'Portfolios. Multiple Portfolios are supported in .RH file.
Direct text editing of Portfolio Name.
Ability to create a new portfolio, rename a portfolio, delete, or duplicate a portfolio. Duplicate option duplicates a selected portfolio and all Model Views within the selected portfolio.
Direct text editing of Model View Name and Model View Description - enables quick editing of model view properties without having to open the Model Views Properties dialog.
Ability to create a new portfolio from selected model views that contains duplicates of the selected model views.
Ability to update a selected model view render mode to the current render mode state.
Ability to move or add selected model views to a portfolio.

Enhanced CAD loaders to enable dynamic "Thick and Thin" line display.

Improved rendering speeds and accurate line rendering via hidden line removal by calculating intersections (up to 40%).
New Web CGM hotspot authoring tools.
Improved 2D Vector editing tools.
2D Vector Title Block import.
Individual Part or Assembly transparency for enhanced illustration techniques.

Now supports 2D *tiff multi-page images.
Callouts
Enhanced Callout Settings dialogs to improve speed of authoring.
Improved halo/arrow size for callouts with user-defined thickness to adhere to S1000 D requirement.
Callout arrows and leader lines can export with halos to vector files .ai, .svg, .rh, .cgm.
Ability to append multiple Existing BOM.
Bi-directional Callout Editing between BOM or Callouts.
Drawing and Markups
Ability to copy and paste Markups.
Image Note markups.
Magnifying Glass now denotes a closed Detail View.
Alignment Tools
New set of alignment tools to easily align, distribute and center 2D objects.
Visual Compare Tools
Tools that provide the ability to visualize the difference between two given objects or assemblies ( 2D or 3D ) by painting every marked object in the scene in 3 different colours.
Cross Section Tool
The Cutting Plane always fits in the 3D Viewport.

Catia5 R18 now supported.
Exact Geometry (Solid Support) added to Iges solid reader, Step solid reader, Parasolid solid reader, and SAT solid reader.
Ability to export to JT with PMI from Catia5 with PMI.
Now supports SolidEdge Method B and ProE Legacy modules (including the file types that they can load). Note that these are separate modules, together with the CAD 2D Reader.
Known Issues
The Autodesk Inventor viewer is required in order to use the Inventor Legacy reading option for Autodesk Inventor 2008 files.
Installation
Installation whilst maintaining a version of Deep Exploration 5.0.x on the same machine
For those customers who wish to run both Deep Exploration 5.0.x and Deep Exploration 5.5 on the same machine, 5.5 must be installed into a separate folder. The default install path for Deep Exploration 5.5 has been changed to C:\Program Files\Right Hemisphere\Deep Exploration 5.5.
Upgrading to Deep Exploration 5.5
When upgrading to Deep Exploration 5.5, you may either un-install and then install the latest build, or just upgrade by installing over the existing build.
Notes
Before installing Deep Exploration, we advise closing
all applications.

All customers using Deep Exploration version 5.5 will,
at a minimum, require Adobe Reader 8.1 for PDF Publishing.
Note: For users with Microsoft Windows 2000 operating
system, you will require all of the latest Microsoft Windows 2000 operating
system updates to be installed before installing Deep Exploration 5.5.
Without the required updates, the Deep Exploration 5.5. installer will
fail.
For Deep Exploration 5.5. silent install :
DeepExploration.exe /v"/passive ALLUSERS=1"
For the combined module ( ensuring that the file exists
for Deep Publish or that your going to do the regsvr32 after for Deep
Publish ) :
The Help reference information is available from the
Deep Exploration menu and by pressing F1 on your keyboard within Deep
Exploration.
Product Versions
The version number scheme is 1.2.3.4567 where:
1 = Major version indicator. This would be incremented
for a major release.
2 = Minor release that indicates new feature release between major
releases.
3 = Indicates a patch that includes fixes only.
4567 = Build number as an identification of the build
that is released.
