These release notes describe and illustrate the features
of this latest release of Deep Exploration CAD and Standard Editions.
They address any issues not discussed in the Help reference or Readme
documentation and they include information regarding installation.
Please note that this document may be updated as more
information becomes available.
Support for Maya 8.0 and 8.5.
(environment variables need to be set manually, see the Help file for
instructions)
Support for Rhino 4.0.
Known Issues
When you use the Adobe Render modes, from its toolbar,
and select a part, when you deselect the part it does not revert back
to the original mode. The Render Controls on the Adobe 3D scene toolbar do not interact with the PDF Publishing controls
Users with Win2000 must have all of the latest
operating system updates installed as a pre-requirement for installing
Deep Exploration v5.0.2. Without the updates the installer will display
an error and fail.
U3D only supports simple animation, so sometimes DE animation has to be sampled in order to be saved in U3D.
Visibility animation is not supported in U3D format.
Installation
Before installing Deep Exploration, we advise closing
all applications.
All customers using Deep Exploration version 5.0.2 will, at a minimum, require Adobe Reader 8.1 for PDF Publishing.
Note: For users with Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system, you will require all of the latest Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system updates to be installed before installing Deep Exploration 5.0.2. Without the required updates the Deep Exploration 5.0.2 installer will fail.
For Deep Exploration 5.0.2 silent install :
DeepExploration.exe /v"/qn ALLUSERS=1"
For the combined module ( ensuring that the file exists
for Deep Publish or that your going to do the regsvr32 after for Deep
Publish ) :
The Help reference information is available from the
Deep Exploration menu and by pressing F1 on your keyboard within Deep
Exploration.
Product Versions
The version number scheme is 1.2.3.4567 where:
1 = Major version indicator. This would be incremented
for a major release.
2 = Minor release that indicates new feature release between major
releases.
3 = Indicates a patch that includes fixes only.
4567 = Build number as an identification of the build
that is released.
