These release notes describe and illustrate the features of this release of Deep Creator. They address any issues not discussed in the Help reference or Readme documentation and they include information regarding installation.
Please note that this document may be updated as more information becomes available.
Lisp crash when loading a scene after playing EditBoxExample.rsn scene.
Crash in Ani_CameraFollow when fDampiningDist = 0.
Mouse Action 1 & Mouse Action 2 on the first person view control so it loads correctly with proper defaults from old scenes.
Some toolbar dropdown icons not updating correctly.
Selection tree getting stuck on a single object.
Breaking Force being greyed out for Up Vector Joints.
Removed security warning messages from published EXE's.
Changed the line color to a grey on the zoom VP icon lines.
crash problem if a partical object is not selected with a Projectile object.
Scene rendering mode dropdown in the setting dialog.
Ani_CarControls() to not crash if object is not visible at scene start.
Shader bug where non-constant per-pass shader uniforms were not getting properly propegated to the video card.
Increased the range of shader "bumpiness" to allow harder bumps when passed a softer normal map.
Some extra out of range checks for the Camera Follow animation to avoid the "blue line of death".
Re-enable the "PhysicsMSTime" setting, but it will now default to 0 and will only be able to be changed via the API and will not save its value to the .rsn file. But note that adding a value to PhysicsMSTime may case a Camera Follow Animation jitter.
Improved some toolbar images.
Changed "Shape" to "Percent" setting in the "Object Color Flash" animation - made more sense.
Crash with cone shape collision shape and groups.
Material dlg colors when a shader is first loaded.
Problem selecting objects with 0 opacity.
Corrected update of material colors when color change is undone with the undo command.
Shader created textures to handle 0 width/height semantics (will use screen size).
out-of-range variable initialization in prism object creation causing crash.
Modified toobar to make viewpoint readily available, not just on dropdown.
Crash in Render2DText flash color handling.
Updated Deepcreator.tdf 2D UI images.
Escape key when in mid dragging objects.
Some small updates to the CarDemo.rsn to make the car a little easier to control.
The scene setting “PhysicsMSTime” is now obsolete.
Camera shake/jitter bug.
Missing images for kiosk wizard.
Fix for when a mesh converted slice and dice object was not fully updated.
Color import bug where out-of-range colors were not getting properly converted (clamped).
Removed Start/End Value clamp on "Material Shader Float Var Change" animation.
Default tab order for Object/Material/Settings dialog(s).
Normals saving for the file ViewSaveRestore.rsn.
The problem where 2D UI images were being purged by mistake.
2DBlit opacity not being used correctly in some situations.
Lisp editor variable window still not scrolling to end of long lists or functions.
Floating point loss in RSN files. Also added new scene setting "Create Compact Save File".
Function keys F5, F6, and F10 so they work when scene is playing, also added the "StopOnF5Key", "StepOnF6Key", and "ToggleSoundF10Key" to the API functions GetSceneVar and SetSceneVar.
Lisp Editor goes totally blank when you type in a word in the Functions Find field, then hit .
Lisp Editor Find and Replace dialogue not working.
Changing image through API of the Material Stage Image animation.
Adjusting volume through API of Play Sound animation.
Setmaterialstagevarbydesc not working properly.
Removed StepPhysics() from rw_Object::Render() to fixed 4 wheel car controller jitter. (View Object Follow jitter remains).
Mouse over activating before previous objects mouse off.
The transform axis is wonky in the perspective view when distance to camera is on and text is drawn in a VP.
Fix to so the Move Alteration works with 2D objects.
Fix to the Image Maker that closes all the open images when the IM is closed.
Lisp Editor dialog so it opened to a larger size by default.
Removed some un-needed files and resounces from the viewer build.
Bad alpha value and state causing bad renders durring render-to-image.
Missing state reset before render skip causing no lighting durring render-to-image.
Possible crash with slider controls.
Animation start in CableSampleSm.rsn sample scene.
Cursor in InventoryPickNDrop.rsn sample scene.
Modified lisp variable "value" column to dynamically resize based on content.
AlphaWindow and DCBakedLights scenes.
Modified the metal rust shaders to use seperate specular map instead of misguided use of alpha channel.
PHGravityObject.rsn - Reduced friction, so boxes move more easily.
Updated Cardemo.rsn. Tweaked physics values, so more stable, and behaves similar to version in 1272.
Known Issues
Key Transform animation does not function correctly for Screen Blits.
Normalize Object gives random results when not selecting reset all.
Rotate alteration causes move transform not to function correctly.
Publish is keeping paths from previous projects.
Scaled objects revert to original size when Rigid Body animation is applied and scene played.
Some bitmaps appear black when the computer is running Maya and Deep Creator.
Walk speed can be erratic in a scene where geometry affects the frame rate.
Boolean does not work as expected if created and translated at runtime.
Import, a random effect is generated on alterations when the object is offset from origin.
Import, Prefer Local Object Transformations: problem with alterations.
Multiple UVs are not importing correctly.
Transformation problems when importing .3ds then exporting to other formats.
View Follow Object Shake buttons have the same animation problems as Edit Box.
Transforming UI blits from the transform dialogue gives inconsistant results.
Display problems with Nvidia 6800 Ultra Go chip.
Liquid Ooze shaders cause blue screen crashes on the ATI laptop.
Bump mapping may kill display drivers, and sometimes display blue screens, when using the ATI 9200.
Users of 2.3.0 need to use Start > Program Files > Right Hemisphere > Cortex - Internet Update, to get the 2.3.1 updates for DC and DCV installed correctly.
